Being an incoming foreign student in a new city, at the new university and around new people might be a little bit challenging and we guess you might be full of questions. That’s why we put together the most frequent ones. If you can not find what you were searching for – contact us. We are more than happy to help you.
● Which courses can I take?
You can take and combine any courses which we offer in English. See the list here.
● Can I add courses from another faculty?
Yes, you can, but the majority of your courses should be from the Faculty of Technology.
● What is the minimum and maximum number of credits per semester?
Students usually take 30 ECTS credits per semester. The minimum amount of credits is 15.
● How should I arrange working on my final thesis during the exchange?
You can send us your thesis proposal with your CV. The Erasmus Coordinator for the Faculty of Technology will find the relevant supervisor for your topic.
● How can I apply for a traineeship?
Send us your CV and a short motivational letter explaining your previous experience and specialization in the study field. We will find the relevant supervisor for you.
● What do I need to bring to the labs?
Do not forget to bring your laboratory coat and a pair of clean shoes, especially if you have classes from microbiology. If you do not have lab attire, you can buy it in a specialized shop in Zlín called „Pracovní oděvy“ the lab coat costs about 300 CZK.
● When will I know my timetable?
We arrange timetables individually for each exchange student. The Erasmus Coordinator will send it to you via email before the semester starts. You will also receive this information at the first informative meeting at the faculty.
● How to connect to WiFi?
You can connect to our wireless network, but in order to use this network, you must first register. Read how to register and connect to WiFi here.
● Can I study without barriers?
YES, Indeed! ,You can study without physical and psychological barriers! We make it possible for students with disabilities to have equal access to our courses and to participate in them independently. We do our best to adjust our services, as well as having an individual approach to people with various types of disabilities. Elevators, barrier-free access, individual study plans, professional counseling and above standard service are a must.
