Presentation in the media
The most important media coverage with significant reach in the period 2019–2025 includes:
– Scientists from Zlín have investigated beer storage and packaging materials (2020 – Seznam Zprávy news). The FT’s researchers have investigated how long-term storage affects beer quality, to what extent packaging material influences changes in quality and what packaging material is the most suitable for long-term beer storage. For more information, see here.
– Scientists from Zlín address the issue of non-degradable plastics, working on model packaging (2021 – iDNES). Researchers from Zlín are trying to find a way how to help solve the problem of land and sea pollution caused by poorly degradable plastics. The FT’s experts are among 24 entities from eleven European countries participating in a project entitled SEALIVE. For more information, see here.
– Do not throw away carp leftovers. Scientists from Zlín want to use them to produce gelatine (2022 – iDNES). The FT’s researchers have focused on exploring the potential use of common carp leftovers. Fish processing by-products, which are not yet used for human nutrition or have no other economic use, account for up to 50% of the fish’s live weight and represent a large amount of unused raw materials rich mainly in proteins, fat, minerals and vitamins. How does plastic “play”? Scientists are looking for the best material for a 3D printed tool (2023 – iDNES). In cooperation with Sensio.cz., researchers from the FT are investigating the acoustic properties of 3D printed materials to make a unique cello. Read more here.
