World-Renowned Chemist Prof. Dr. Krzysztof Matyjaszewski to Present His Findings at FT UTB
7. November 2024On Tuesday,November 12, 2024, the Faculty of Technology at Tomas Bata University in Zlín will welcome a distinguished guest. Prof. Dr. Krzysztof Matyjaszewski, one of the most cited scientists today, will present his research activities in the field of polymer chemistry.
Prof. Matyjaszewski, based at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, is a pioneer in the field of Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ATRP). His research has revolutionized the preparation of macromolecular materials and has found broad applications in both industry and scientific research.
The lecture program includes two topics:
- 14:00-15:00 Fundamentals of Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization
- 15:00-16:00 Applications of Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization
The lectures will take place in Lecture Hall 003 / U15.
Prof. Matyjaszewski holds 150 international patents and has authored over 1,200 scientific publications. His work has been cited over 17,000 times, and with an h-index of 204, he ranks 5th among the most cited scientists worldwide. He is also a recipient of prestigious awards, including the Wolf Prize in Chemistry, and has received multiple nominations for the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
